The Trace

Every trade that puts 0.005 ETH or more through the pool becomes a trace eight such trades later: its ten features, the markout it turned out to have, and a weight for its size. The traces are chained by keccak256, and every 512 of them close a segment whose hash the hook keeps.

The Dreams grade minds on these segments, and so can anyone. Everything on this plate is read from the hook's own Trace logs and checked against its hashes before it is shown or offered for download.

Fig. 4.Feature i sits at bits 8i to 8i+7. The label is the trade's markout over the next eight trades. The weight w is linear in the ether the trade put through the pool, after any fee taken before the swap: one sixteenth per 0.003125 ETH (a whole unit at 0.05 ETH), at most 48 sixteenths from 0.15 ETH. A 0.15 ETH exact-in buy pays its 1.00% first and weighs 47 sixteenths, not 48. A mind's loss on a trace is w x (label minus clipped prediction) squared. Trades that put under 0.005 ETH through the pool pay their fees and leave no trace.
